i was just thinking..

there are so many things on my mind right now. let me see if i can sort them all out.

i always have a must-have list. and there are always so many things on it.

does anybody else shop at payless? i do. i always did. but in the most recent years, they have really stepped up their shoe game. on my must have list are a pair of Z LONDON sandals.
Brands Z LondonLiverpool Sandal i love these. 29.99 at payless shoes.  It features a faux leather upper adorned with metallic bead accents, ankle strap with adjustable hook-and-eye closure, soft footbed, and flexible. it comes in gold and silver. these immediately caught my attention. i already have a gold pair of sandals smiliar to these but i definately want to have these too. and the price is  great. o how i love shoes. and actually summer is my favortie time of year to buy shoes. i love strappy sandals in all colors.
next....i love bright colors. i love them no matter the season. but especially spring and summer. so i was happy to see this trend on the runway for 2011.

bubblegum stripes! i think im just in love with the bold colors. so it isnt really necessary to copy the runway look but just adding one or two bold colors sometimes is enough. but if i wear a bold stripe on top, then im definately going to pair it with a solid bottom. i definately dont want to look like a clown.

my next must have is a little tresure i found on ebay. i came across a lot of vintage earrings that was resonably priced. so many nice and unique pieces. so ive decided to stalk ebay until i find the perfect lot for myself. the first one i found was so perfect but it was purchased before i was able to bid. i see alot of the vintage jewelry lots are all thrown together and then pics are taken. but i prefer for each piece to be laid out individually so i can see it clearly. this way i know what im getting and there are no surprises when i receive. there isnt anything right now that catches my eye right now. i saw this but it doesnt have enough variety for me. but i love how everything is laid out so you can see what you are getting in your lot. some of these earrrings are kind of nice though. the starting bid is 16.99 and shipping is 6.00. i dont think this is worth that much money. but, maybe someone else will.

ok, moving on..
i was trying to stretch my relaxer until march. but that didnt happen. i was craving the creamy crack and i gave in. i relaxed my hair at 9 weeks and two days. i had a considerable amount of growth and i was very pleased.
my bangs grew back as well. i dont think i will be cutting them again. the bangs were cute but such a pain. i never really like my hair on my forehead or in my eyes and thats what it was doing. i will continue using the evco, but will also add the jbco to my regimen soon. check out my youtube channel with more info on what im doing with my hair.
that is all for now..i shall return

whats new?

hey all...

the first thing i want to talk about today is my deep conditioning packs i bought from walmart today.

creme of nature argan oil intensive conditioning treatment. argan oil from morocco, strengthens, imparts moisture, and prevents hair breakage. im so excited to use this. i will definately do a video on the results of my deep conditioning. according to the creme of nature website, Intensive Conditioning Treatment is an intensively deep conditioning treatment that strengthens, revitalizes and gives luminous shine. It prevents hair breakage and deeply infuses moisture from the inside out. Ideal for all hair types, including relaxed, natural and color-treated hair, this treatment can be used after every shampoo as a quick conditioner, or every week as a reconstructor . ive heard so many good things about the argan oil. its on my list of things to purchase. im not a fan of creme of nature products. i never really was. but im hoping this conditioner will work well with my hair. since my hair is so thick, i brought two packs. i want to mix it with olive oil, but ill use this first alone to see if my hair likes it. my main goal is maintaining moisture especially while im stretching. i will do my best to stretch my relaxer 14 weeks, im at 8 weeks as of today and doing my hair is very challenging. the thickness is crazy. the evco is really helping me alot. ive also been thinking about going back to the shea butter mix once this jar of evco is finished, but i havent made up my mind yet on that.

next, i want to introduce the launch of my very first youtube channel . im going to continue keeping up with my hair journey. i will also be doing some videos on fashion and a few on makeup. please subscribe and feel free to leave comments.

lastly, i didnt know antonia carter opened a boutique in new orleans in october. garbs boutique. good for her. it looks very chic. she and baby carter were dressed so cute for the grand opening.

the grand opening was of course by invite only.

very nice. congrats to her. i wanted to see what type of clothes she sells but i couldnt find a website, but im sure everything is very stylish.
ok, thats all for now. o btw, did anyone catch the red carpet for the golden globes? very fab!

until next time, xoxo...lovegirl

spring trend #1

hello people...hope everyone is doing ok.

i am so excited about the spring 2011 trends. my favorite is the vintage 70's look.Freja Beha Erichsen 70s shoot

ive always loved the look of the 70's. very carefree, yet sophisticated. for a great 70's "day" look try:
1-High waisted wide-leg pants or flares, smartly belted in
2-Neat bow-blouses, especially ones with billowing or bishop sleeves. Particularly great are fabrics like silk and satin.
3-Roll neck sweaters tucked into pants or skirts. Add to the '70s effect by layering over beaded necklaces or a vest
4-For those more daring, a pair of hotpants are the ultimate '70s item
5-A smart printed jumpsuit is another great alternative

hot pants
(hot pants- and her top and bottom are mixed patterns)

jumpsuit
(jumpsuit)

for a vintage 70's night look try:
1-Choose high sheen fabrics with a '70s disco-inspired edge, like lurex or silk; anything with a metallic thread
2-Add a ruffled neckline under a brocade blazer or tuxedo jacket, paired with a sharp pair of pants
3-Long, slinky gowns with draping, low necklines or dress slits are the ultimate in '70s night time glamour
70s nighttime glamour

next up is the best part, in my opinion anyway, ACCESSORIES!

1-The right handbag completes a look. Try for smart, high quality bags like a leather satchel for day, and a small bag with a long strap for night.
2-Big, statement leather belts slung over mini skirts or maxi dresses add impact and fair to a seventies-inspired outfit.
3-A pair of on-trend thigh-high boots are probably already be in your wardrobe by now - pair them with hot pants or a skirt for a sexed-up yet sophisticated '70s look.
4-Wear lots of jewellery - but keep it a little cleaner than for a boho look. Try lots of ringslwith bold stones, neat piles of bangles, and long pendant necklaces and strings of beads.
5-Look to complimentary hairstyles like a sleek longer bob, masses of bouncy curls, or long flowing hair.

im so in love with mixing patterns.
i feel the vintage 70's look gives off a vibe of boldness and independence.
next...time to e-shop and see where i can find these funky styles for spring.

kimora lee simmons-life in the fab lane season 4

ive always admired kimora. shes a mom, a wife and a smart business woman. the fourth season of her show is set to air sun jan 9. she recently did an interview with http://www.essence.com/ where she spoke about the new season of her show. she mentions how she is no longer with babyphat, but still has alot of other things going on. she still has KLS, Hello Kitty, Kouture at Macys, shes is working on a skin care line and she also is working on her 6th fragrance. so she is definately still doing her thing. she mentions how she has lost 20lbs and spends the time she has to herself on the treadmill.

trend lover

i hadnt planned to blog about fashion until i did the forecast for spring, but i did come across a few things i had to share. i saw solange knowles in a pic with long micro braids like janet jackson had in the movie poetic justice. she was my inspiration to blog immediately.

the braids are nice. but i also like her turban. this is such a rachel zoe piece. i found this soft knit turban on http://www.oaknyc.com/ .

$38 black soft knit turban with front twist detailing. moderate to loose fit. now i want one, esp for when i visit my dominican stylist. im sure i would need to oreder something like this online. i havent seen any in the stores around here.ill check ebay too. they have everything.

the next idea i saw was for a floral print shirt. i have a love/hate relationship with floral. defintaely more hate then love. but this past summer i did buy one floral shirt that came with a belt. it has brown and blue in it. i wore it with brown leggings when it wasnt extremely hot outside. but the idea i had was to pair the shirt with a patterned pant or legging.  its basically mixing patterns. and i know some may frown on doing that, but i think its a great way to give your style a new fashion forward look.

a patterned pant can be stripe, floral, graphic shapes or abstract art. bright and bold or subtle and sophisticated. whatever you feel more comfortable in. but definately dont be scared to mix patterns. clashing patterns give can give a sense of a careless charm. but dont overdo it because you will end up looking like a circus clown.

ok these are just a few things that caught my eye. my next trend blog will be a small forecast of what to expect for spring 2011. its time to go shopping because spring is right around the corner.

bantu results

last night, i used my new evco. i started at the ng and then put on my ends. i also did three bantu knots.
one on each side and one in the back. when i took them out this morning, i put evco on the ends to prevent them from drying out and to add some shine.

this is what i consider a protective style because it required no heat. the evco gave my hair a great shine and did not dry out today. the bantu knots give my hair a nice wave/curl pattern. so i would defintaely say this works for me. not heat, and an easy hairstyle and i maintained moist ends. moist ends means little to no breakage. no breakage means retaining length.
this weekend i plan to deep condition with the lustra silk shea butter cholesterol plus conditioner. even though this is a moisturizing conditioner, i will be adding evoo to it for added moisture. then ill go under a plastic cap for an hour. no shampoo this time. i will co-wash wtih my tresseme conditioner
my next purchase will be the jamaican black cator oil. until next time..

evco

well i received my evco today. i ordered it sunday. delivery was amazingly quick. so tonight i plan to get started back towards a healthy hair regimen. first, i will spray my hair with the motions leave-in. then i will apply the evco to my new growth. then i will add to my ends. this will be my process for moisturizing and sealing for the rest of my stretch. after i moisturize and seal my hair  i will put my hair in three bantu knots to keep then ends tucked away. then ill sleep in my satin bonnet. i havent noticed any breakage, but i want to avoid any. so keeping the ends moist and tucked away is best right now. and definately no more heat for the duration of the stretch. this is so essential is reaching my goal in 2011. have you set any goals for your hair? mynext purchase will be the jamaican black castor oil. i used this product before and t gave mean abundance of thickness.actually more than i needed. but i want to use it just one more time to help with the growing process.ill be sure to post pics of the bantu knots and the finished product tomorrow.
until then....

beyonce in the Tom Ford fashion show

The singer recently made a cameo in Tom Ford's spring 2011 fashion show. But it wasn't just any old runway scenario: The celebrated designer showed his first womenswear collection in six years. (He left Gucci in 2004 when contract negotiations went sour.)
For such a hugely fabulous occasion, Ford enlisted the help of fierce ladies like B., Julianne Moore and Lauren Hutton, along with top models Daria Werbowy, Chanel Iman and more.
Though the supersecret show went down in September, video of the event was just released today.  Im such a fan of Beyonce's big hair.

6 weeks post

well actually ill be 6 weeks post in two more days. today i washed my hair and then i used the mane and tail deep moisturizng condtioner. i hate shampoo. it aways makes my hair hard and dry. i try to co-wash as much as possible, but today i needed to really clean my scalp. as soon as i put the conditioner on my hair, it became silky smooth. i usually use the tresemme conditioner, but when i dont have time to do a deep condioner, ill use the mane and tail conditioner. i blow dryed my hair when i finished washing it. i mainly did it because i wanted to do a length check. this will be what i use to compare my hair next january.

front and back pics as of today. i got my ends trimmed mid-november and it took some length. so im hoping to gain that back but in a more healthier form. today im ordering my extra virgin coconut oil from http://www.vitacost.com/ .i usually get the Nutiva Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil. (15fl oz $6.91). lately ive been using evoo (extra virgn olive oil) on my hair, but im going to switch up once i receive my order. my goal for this year is to reach mid-back length. im pretty sure i can do it as long as i stay committed.
